
Tucson's New Pitcher Does It All

The 20 year old Edgar Gonzalez earned an 11-1 win while making his first AAA appearance in addition to going 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored at the plate. Gonzalez, who was recently called up from AA, overmatched the Albuquerque Isotopes in their first visit to Tucson. He went 7 strong innings with only 1 run on 5 hits with 5 strikeouts. At the plate he singled and scored a run in both the 2nd and 4th innings.
Gonzalez wasn't the only Sidewinder getting it done at the plate. Matt Kata, Brian Gordon, and Steve Neal all had home runs to left while Doug DeVore and Chad Tracy each chipped in 2 hits. All 9 Sidewinder starters had at least one hit.
With the win Tucson moved into 3rd place in the Southern Division passing the Fresno Grizzlies.
Wednesday's matinee game features Tucson hurler John Patterson (3-1, 3.32) matching up against Albuquerque's Nate Bump (1-3, 3.73).
