
Explorers Snap Losing Streak At El Paso

El Paso, TX-----Ty Marotz picked up his first win as a manager, the Explorers had a season high in runs (17) and hits (20) as they snapped a six-game losing streak here Saturday with a 17-4 win over El Paso.
Marotz, who took over as the Interim Manager on Tuesday, has the most career wins as a pitcher for the Explorers and Saturday he picked up his first win as the Explorers manager in five games.
The Explorers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning highlighted by a two-run home run by Luke Murton, his sixth of the year. The Explorers then scored five runs in the second inning to increase their lead to 8-0, sending nine batters to the plate.
In the third and fourth innings, El Paso made six errors and the Explorers took advantage of the miscues and scored four more runs to increase the lead to 12-0. El Paso committed nine errors in the game that set an American Association record for the most errors in one game.
Everyone in the Explorers starting lineup had at least one hit with Peter Barrows having two doubles and five RBI's.
Explorers starting pitcher Andy Noga pitched six innings and notched his fourth win of the season while El Paso starter Jon Jones did not get out of the second inning as he lost his third game of the year.
The Explorers will close out the Texas road trip Sunday with a single game at El Paso with game time 7:05 Central. The X's will have an off day Monday and back at Lewis and Clark Park Tuesday to face I-29 rival Sioux Falls.
