Florida Everblades News Release
ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades proudly announced today that they will help commemorate the upcoming Veterans Day holiday by offering free admission to all active duty and active duty reserve military personnel on Saturday, November 10 when the Everblades host the Columbia Inferno at 7:30 p.m. from Germain Arena.
All Active Duty and Active Duty Reserve personnel that come dressed in uniform and show an active military ID will receive one free admission to the game. Veterans will also be honored, by showing proof of service via Form DD 214 or Certificate of Honorable Discharge. Tickets to the game will be available to military personnel beginning at 6:00 p.m. on November 10 at the Germain Arena box office, and will be available on a "First come, First served" basis. Veterans are encouraged to wear military caps, shirts or jackets. During the game, Veterans will be encouraged to stand and be recognized. The free admission tickets will be limited so military personnel planning to attend are urged to arrive at Germain Arena early.
Prior to the start of the game, Capt. John "Giddy-UP" Bunch (United States Marine Corp 1969-1976), founder of Operation Open Arms, will be dropping the ceremonial first puck. The Everblades are one of 130 Operation Open Arms sponsors serving US Troops on combat leave from Lee and Collier County. Capt. Bunch was recently nominated for the Mark Messier Leadership Award for his unselfish dedication and support to US Troops on their brief combat leaves. In 2006, Capt. Bunch was awarded the highest honor afforded to an ordinary citizen of Lee County, The Honor of Distinction.
