Florida Everblades News Release


The Florida Everblades completed half of their seven-game road trip this week to the great white North. The 'Blades went unbeaten in regulation posting wins in Wheeling, Toledo and Kalamazoo. Florida managed to claw a point out of Kalamazoo last Saturday night in a shootout loss.

The Everblades finish their tour through the North Division of the American Conference this week with their final meeting of the season with Toledo on Wednesday night. The Everblades finish off the week with a pair of games in Cincinnati on Friday and Saturday night, their only two meetings with the Cyclones this season.

LAST WEEK

Wednesday, November 25 @ Wheeling Wes Banco Arena 7:05PM

GAME NOTES: In the first-ever meeting between these two clubs, the Everblades pasted the Wheeling Nailers 4-1 at Wes Banco Arena. Newcomer Harrison Reed posted a goal and an assist and veteran forward Ryan Lang fired in the game winner (SH). The Nailers will travel to Southwest Florida on December 16, 18 and 19 to finish off the four-game season series.

Friday, November 27 @ Toledo Lucas County Arena 7:00PM

GAME NOTES: Florida beat the Walleye for the fifth time this season and second time since the season opener in Toledo. The Everblades outscored the Walleye 2-0 in the third period to solidify the 6-3 victory. The line of Ryan Lang, Harrison Reed and Kevin Baker paced the Everblades each scoring a goal and adding two assists. The 'Blades and Walleye meet for the final time this season next week.

Saturday, November 28 @ Kalamazoo Wings Stadium 7:30PM

GAME NOTES: The first-ever meeting between these two clubs was epic. After falling down 5-0 early in the second period, the Everblades clawed back to a 6-2 deficit heading into the third. Florida tied the game at 6-6 on a Ross Carlson goal with two seconds remaining to ultimately send the game to a shootout. Barry Brust stopped eight of nine shooters while Wings netminder Ryan Nie stopped a perfect nine of nine to give Kalamazoo a 7-6 victory.

Sunday, November 29 @ Kalamazoo Wings Stadium 4:00PM

GAME NOTES: In the second of back-to-back meetings saw the Everblades jump out to a 5-0 lead and never looked back securing a 5-2 win. Jacob Micflikier's return to Florida from Albany helped lead the Everblades past Kalamazoo. Micflikier (1g, 3a) four-point effort along with Harrison Reed's two goals and an assist continued the Everblades unbeaten streak (4-0-1). The Wings will travel to Southwest Florida for the first time in February for the final three meetings of the season between the two clubs.

THIS WEEK

Wednesday, December 2 @ Toledo Lucas County Arena 7:05PM

GAME NOTES: This is the final meeting of a scheduled eight this season. The Everblades have gotten the better of the Walleye in four straight outings to lift their overall record to 5-1-1 this season. Florida swept Toledo in Southwest Florida and is 2-1-1 in Lucas County Arena this season.

Friday, December 4 @ Cincinnati US Bank Arena 7:30PM

GAME NOTES: The Everblades and Cyclones meet just two times this season with both games being played in Cincinnati. Overall in their history, Florida is 2-0-0 against Cincinnati.

Saturday, December 5 @ Cincinnati US Bank Arena 7:30PM

GAME NOTES: The second and final meeting between the Everblades and Cyclones this season. This game marks the end of the Everblades two-week road trip. Florida will return home with a six-game homestand hosting South Division rival Charlotte and North Division foe Wheeling at Germain Arena.

Goaltender Barry Brust posted two wins and nearly claimed a third in relief of teammate Chris Beckford-Tseu last Saturday night. Friday, Brust stopped 26 of 29 shots in the 'Blades fourth straight victory over Toledo this season. Saturday, Brust came in late in the first period and stopped 18 of 21 shots in regulation and overtime, plus eight of nine shooters in the shootout in a 7-6 shootout loss to Kalamazoo. Sunday, Brust was solid making 28 of 30 saves in Florida's 5-2 win over the Wings.

Bring Your Canned Food Items to the Game - During the Everblades next three home games on December 9, 11 and 12 against the Charlotte Checkers if you bring a canned food item to the game you will receive a free ticket voucher to the Florida College Classic on December 29 and 30 at Germain Arena. The Harry Chapin Food Bank www.harrychapinfoodbank.org will have bins to drop off your canned food items throughout the concourse at Germain Arena.

MAC & CHEESE NIGHT - The Everblades will be hosting Mac & Cheese Night on Friday, December 11. Bring a box of Mac & Cheese to the game and use it as a noisemaker to cheer on your Everblades, then after the game drop your box of Mac & Cheese into the Harry Chapin Food Bank bin to help fight hunger in Southwest Florida!
