Florida Everblades News Release
ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Gerry Fleming announced today that forward Jon Lehun has been recalled by the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League.
Lehun, who turns 23 today, heads to the AHL for the first time in his career having scored 34 points (18g, 16a) in 35 games with the Everblades this season. The Toronto, Ontario native has picked up points in five of the last eight games (4g, 4a) including scoring twice in last night's 5-2 win over Gwinnett. Lehun began the 2006-07 season by collecting a point in nine of the first 13 games, which included his best run of the season scoring eight points in a four-game span.
Lehun is in his second professional season after making his pro debut last year with the Everblades. The former 6th round draft pick by the St. Louis Blues in 2003 collected 31 points (11g, 20a) in 31 games to start the 2005-06 season before being traded from Florida to Pensacola in January. Lehun skated in two games with the Ice Pilots before heading overseas to Germany where he finished the season with Berlin, playing in three games.
Prior to turning pro Lehun spent two seasons (2003-05) at the junior level with Owen Sound of the Ontario Hockey League and one season (2002-03) at the collegiate level with St. Cloud State University.
