About BUCKETMAN

The alarm clock blares its a routine alert to indicate the start of a new day. Jason Simonsen known in the world of Hockey as "BUCKETMAN" wakes with vigor and vows to live another day to its fullest. The first thing Jason does each morning is reach behind his head with both hands and locate two bumps at the base of his skull he gives them a soft push.

This would seem a bizarre action to most but for Jason it is an essential movement that keeps him alive! In December of 1986 then 14-year-old Jason was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus, a condition commonly known as "water on the brain." Jason underwent surgery on New Years Eve of 1986 to alleviate the pressure and implant a shunt. The initial results were good but the following months brought complications and 8 more trips to the hospital. Finally, different shunts were installed. Jason had a simple answer when asked what brought him through, he said "Family and Friends...Hope"

A new life ensued for Jason as he had known nothing but sport as a lifestyle and now he became a bystander as he watched as all his friends played and competed with each other on the court, in the ring, on the ice or on the field. After relocating to Topeka, KS Jason again found the fire burning inside to be involved first hand when the announcement that a Semi Pro Hockey was coming to town he again vowed to be a part of entertaining the crowd and motivating the fan's while spreading the message that you can overcome obstacles and live out your dreams if you try.

With this came the birth of the character known as the "BUCKETMAN".

From Topeka to Oklahoma City, Tulsa, San Antonio, Wichita, Colorado Springs, Lincoln, Omaha, the JR Championships in Chicago and now Augusta the "BUCKETMAN" continues to provide crowds with a unique style of excitement and entertainment for the entire family.

The "BUCKETMAN" visits Augusta and the Walton Rehabilitation Hospital Friday February 23rd to share his message with their patients and staff. Friday night he will entertain the LYNX faith full at JAMES BROWN ARENA---------- when the Lynx take on the Toledo Storm in a 7:35 match up.

(The first 1500 fans in attendance receive a free "BUCKETMAN" trading card.)

Come out and visit with "BUCKET" during intermission and get your card autographed.
