Evansville Otters News Release

(EVANSVILLE, Indiana) endash Rookie outfielder Luis Uribe was traded to the Laredo Lemurs of the American Association on Thursday morning for a player to be named later.

Uribe joined the Otters earlier this season from Oklahoma State University where he hit .310 as a senior in 2010.

"Luis had a great camp here but had a chance to play at a higher level," said Otters manager Andy McCauley. "Instead of fighting for a job with us, it is a good opportunity to have an everyday position with manager Pete Incaviglia in Laredo."

Incaviglia is a former 12-year veteran of the Major Leagues and also played at Oklahoma State as well. Uribe will be expected to start this season in the outfielder under the tutelage of a fellow alum.

"Uribe was doing a good job competing with our other outfielders," said Kevin Cope, the Evansville Otters Director of Player Personnel. "We wish him the best of luck moving forward with the Lemurs."

The Otters are in Florence, Kentucky for an exhibition game tonight against the Freedom.

The Evansville Otters play another exhibition game tomorrow, May 11th at Historic Bosse Field. It is the 8th annual Jacob's Village benefit game with first pitch scheduled for 6:35 pm. General admission price is $4.00 as reserved seats will be selling for $6.00.

Opening Day for the Otters at historic Bosse Field is Friday, May 18, 2012, when Evansville hosts the Washington Wild Things. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. CDT, and season tickets are on sale now.
