Evansville Otters Going for Fifth Straight Win

LOOK BACK AT LAST GAMES: Pitcher Matt Zielinski took a no-hitter to the eighth in- ning, struck out a career-high 15 batters and guided Evansville to a 4-0 win over the Flor- ence Freedom on Friday night.

The only hit for Florence was a ninth- inning leadoff single for outfielder Pablo Bermudez that just crept over the leap of second baseman Taylor Black. Evansville went ahead 1-0 on a sacrifice fly from shortstop Ryan Kresky in the fifth inning. They would add to the lead with an eighth inning two run home run from outfielder Nick Schwaner and then a solo home run from first baseman Andrew Clark. It was the first time the Otters recorded back to back home runs this season.

HE IS "Z" MAN: Pitcher Matt Zielinski tied an Evansville Otters record by throw- ing a one-hitter last night. His 15 strikeouts in a single game fell one shy of an- other Evansville Otters record(Chris Pillsbury with 16 on August 8, 2006).

WHAT'S AT STAKE? The Evansville Otters are looking for their ninth straight win at Bosse Field and their fifth consecutive victory. Starting pitch- er Ryan Zamorsky enter's today's action off back to back complete game shutouts.

FUN FACTS: The Evansville Otters are 10-1 when scoring first this season. Evansville is 7-1 in doubleheaders this year as well. The Otters are batting a Frontier League high .279 this season with the top three hitters in the league (Andrew Clark - .419, C.J. Henry .385, John Schultz .383). They have the second best ERA at 2.95. Evansville is also 11-0 when leading after five innings this season.
