Harrisburg Senators News Release
Harrisburg, PA - RHP Marco Estrada, one of the Senators' top starting pitchers, was promoted to Triple-A Columbus on Monday. RHP Bobby Brownlie was added to the roster from Columbus.
Estrada, 24, went 6-3 with a 2.66 ERA for the Senators. He was the Nationals' 6th round pick in the 2005 draft. Estrada only played one year of varsity high school baseball. He started his collegiate career at Glendale College and transferred to Long Beach State University, where he starred in 2005. Estrada won his Double-A debut in April and makes his first-ever appearance above Double-A for Columbus.
Brownlie, 27, started the season in the Harrisburg starting rotation and went 4-0 with a 2.83 ERA prior to his promotion. He was with the Clippers for just over a month, going 1-3 with a 7.86 ERA. Brownlie was drafted by the Cubs in the 1st round (21st overall) in 2003.
With the moves, the Senators maintain a full 24-man active roster. They have Monday off and return to action Tuesday at 6:35 PM at Commerce Bank Park against the Trenton Thunder.
