LAKEWOOD, N.J. - Baseball fans will know Jayson Stark from his insightful columns and numerous appearances on the ESPN. On Saturday, August 16, the BlueClaws faithful will get a chance to meet the famed sportswriter and TV personality, when he visits FirstEnergy Park to sign copies of his book The Stark Truth.

Stark, a Philadelphia native, served as the Phillies beat writer for the Philadelphia Inquirer through 2000, at which point he joined up with ESPN. His book, The Stark Truth: The Most Overrated and Underrated Players in Baseball History, was released in 2007.

"Jayson Stark is one of the most familiar names in all of sports writing," BlueClaws General Manager Geoff Brown said. "We are very excited to have him out at FirstEnergy Park for the first time to offer our fans his unique perspective on the game."

Stark will be in attendance for the BlueClaws 7:05 p.m. game with the Charleston RiverDogs, the Class A affiliate of the New York Yankees. Copies of The Stark Truth will be available for purchase at the ClawsCove.

The BlueClaws welcome both the Mets and Yankees affiliates to FirstEnergy Park for the first time since 2005 starting on Monday, August 11. Tickets for all eight upcoming games are available online at BlueClaws.com, over the phone at (732) 901-7000 or in-person at the FirstEnergy Park ticket office.
