
Eskimos Sign Pair of Defensive Backs

(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimos have signed a pair of free agent defensive backs, David Pittman and Brian Logan, as the club continues to bolster it ¬â¢s roster for the upcoming 2011 training camp.
The 27 year old Pittman (5-11, 182lbs), a third round selection (87th overall) by Baltimore in the 2006 NFL Draft of Northwestern State University , appeared in seven games over two seasons with the Ravens., posting ten tackles, three knockdowns and two interceptions. He also had stints with New Orleans ( ¬â¢08), Houston ( ¬â¢08) and Pittsburgh ( ¬â¢10) in addition to time with New York ( ¬â¢09) and Hartford ( ¬â¢10) of the UFL.
Brian Logan (5-6, 190lbs) was a two time all-conference player at Brigham Young University. A transfer from Foothills College in California, Logan played In 26 games over two seasons (2009 ¬" 2010) at BYU and posted 68 tackles, 27 assisted tackles and five interceptions.
Eskimo General Manager Eric Tillman says David Pittman is an experienced defensive back at the pro level who we expect to compete for a starting postion early in training camp. Defensive Coordinator Rich Stubler plans to look at him at multiple spots in the secondary to see where he fits in best"
Brian Logan comes highly recommended by people at BYU who say he is one of the best defensive players they've had in that fine program in the past 10 years. Brian was told he was too short to play at both junior college and Divison One and he ¬â¢s proven the skeptics wrong at both levels. He ¬â¢s got terrific speed and an elite level vertical jump and plays much bigger than his size ¬Â.
