
Eskimos sign free agent OL Adam Rogers

(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimos today announced the signing of free agent non-import OL Adam Rogers.
The former Acadia University standout was protected by the Montreal Alouettes as an undrafted free agent following the 2008 CFL Canadian Draft. Rogers was released last week by Montreal.
The 22 year old Rogers (6'-5", 310 lbs) was a CIS first team All-Star in 2006 and 2007 and played in the 2007 East - West Bowl. He earned second team CIS All-Star honours in 2005 and was the Atlantic Conference nominee in 2006 and 2007 for the J.P. Metras Trophy, awarded annually to the best lineman in Canada.
Rogers is expected to join the Eskimos in camp tomorrow (Tuesday, June 3).
The club also announced that they have released import kicker/punter Tony Yelk and non-import linebacker Dan Bass.
2008 Eskimo Training Camp underway at Clarke Stadium in Edmonton. The Eskimos open the pre-season June 13 at Calgary (7:00pm kickoff).
