Edmonton Elks News Release
Close Calls - WR Kamau Peterson was shaken up when he was hit by DB Stanford Samuels during a drill. Peterson was eager to return to the field, but the trainers held him out of the rest of practice. A hush fell over the field when DL Adam Braidwood crumpled to the turf after colliding with Aaron Fiacconi. Braidwood tweaked his surgically repaired left knee, but walked off the field without assistance.
Welcome - the newest Eskimo, OL Adam Rogers, was on the field today. Rogers comes highly recommended by former Eskimo All-Star lineman Bruce Beaton ,who helped coach the O-line at Acadia University.
Field Trip - Students from McNally High School came out today to watch camp and take in some sunshine.
Birthday Boy - Rookie quarterback Tyler Donovan turned 24 today.
Maciocia Quote - "If there's an area that I am excited about it is our offensive line. That's where I see a significant, and I say significant, upgrade as far as talent and as far as mentality is concerned."
Receiving Corps - "It has been a very competitive camp so far through the three days," says Eskimo QB Jason Maas. "I mean, if you had a lineup with any of them on game day, you'd be doing alright. That's why I think whoever the Eskimos decide to keep around here, it's going to be awesome...it's going to be a phenomenal receiving corps this year. As quarterbacks looking at it, there's going to be some tough decisions to be made, but they all can play and that's the main thing."
Fight o' the Day: The days are long, tempers are short. The helmets came off and a couple of Canadian boys, Joe McGrath and Adrian Baird threw some punches, with McGrath landing a "Laraqian - like" right hook. Earlier in the day, Montez Murphy and Aaron Fiacconi scuffled after the play.

- Jason Tucker (back)
