
Eskimos Sign A Pair Of Backs

(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimos have signed import defensive backs Weldon Brown and Isaiah Gardner, the club announced today.
Brown signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in April 2009 and was released on June 17, 2009. A four-year letterman and three-year starter at Louisiana Tech, Brown saw action at CB, KR and RB during his career. He finished with 157 career tackles and nine interceptions.
Gardner signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars in April 2008 and spent time moving back and forth from the practice and active rosters. He was waived by the Jaguars in May 2009. A speedy, two-year starter at the University of Maryland, the Michigan native ended his collegiate career with 147 tackles, 16 passes broken up, three interceptions, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
