Eskimo High School Camp Presented By Boston Pizza Is Back

(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimos and Boston Pizza are proud to announce that the Eskimo High School Camp presented by Boston Pizza is back for another year. The week long camp will kick off on Monday, May 10th at Clarke Field at 4:00pm. Approximately 80 high school students from around Edmonton and area will spend a week learning football fundamentals from current Edmonton Eskimos.
"This is one of our most popular community events we do during the off-season," says Eskimo Community Relations Manager, Brad Morgan. "The students get a chance to learn from professionals and have some fun while they're here. And it goes both ways as our guys love the opportunity to help develop young athletes."
The students get a chance to use the tools they learned all week at the Green and Gold Championship game, which takes place on Friday, May 14. With bragging rights on the line the game is usually action-packed and decided in the last few seconds of play.
Mathieu Bertrand (quarterbacks), Graeme Bell (running backs), Kevin Wuthrich (receivers), Aaron Fiacconi (offensive line), Patrick Kabongo (defensive line), Greg Whelan (linebackers) and Tristan Jackson (defensive backs) are this year's coaches with Ed Hervey as the head instructor. Bertrand and Bell are taking on the role of Head Coaches for the Green and Gold Championship Game.
"We're all excited to get on the field and work with these kids," says Team Gold Head Coach Graeme Bell. "These guys are at the age where they are looking to head off to college to play at a more competitive level and we're trying to teach them the fundamental knowledge and hard work to pursue football as a career."
