Tonight, the SeaWolves look for back-to-back wins as they take on the Binghamton Rumble Ponies (New York Mets) in the opening game of a three-game series at NYSEG Stadium. Yesterday afternoon, the SeaWolves used four pitchers to toss a combined shutout of the Akron RubberDucks, taking the series finale 2-0. The win gave the 'Wolves their first series win since taking three of four from Readin to open the season. The win also improved the SeaWolves road record to 10-10...Righty Kyle Funkhouser takes the mound for the SeaWolves making his seventh start agnd third against the Rumble Ponies. Funkhouser is 0-2 with a 4.22 ERA in his previous two starts against Binghamton. Funkhouser took a no-decision in his last start against Harrisburg on May 9. In the game, he allowed four runs on eight hits with four walks and three strikeouts in four innings of work. Funkhouser left the game with a 5-4 lead and the Erie bullpen surrendered eight unanswered runs as the SeaWolves fell 12-5. Erie is winless in Funkhouser starts...Righty Mickey Jannis takes the mound for the Rumble Ponies making his fifth start and third against the SeaWolves. Jannis is 2-0 in his previous two starts against Erie. He took a loss in his last start against Hartford allowing five runs on six hits with three walks and six strikeouts in five innings.
