ENTERING TODAY'S ACTION...
Today, the SeaWolves look to avoid dropping back-to-back games for the first time this season as they take the field in game three of a four-game set against the Binghamton Mets (New York Mets) at Jerry Uht Park. Binghamton and Erie have played a pair of slugfests in the first two games of the series. The two teams have
combined to score 48 runs on 57 hits. Defense has all been an issue for both clubs through the first two games of the series with each club making seven errors. The 'Wolves have committed 15 errors as a team which is the most in the league. The B-Mets have committed 12 errors which is tied for eight most with four other clubs...Last night, the 'Wolves connected on a season-high four home runs, scored a season-high 13 runs and collected a season-high 17 hits in the losing effort...For the first time this season, Erie is not in first place in the Southern Division as the team has fallen a half-game behind Harrisburg in second place...Today, RHP Andrew Kown makes his home debut. He went six shutout innings in his first outing against Bowie and was the only SeaWolves pitcher to pick up a win through the first turn in the rotation. He held Bowie's left handed batters at bay with an .091 average (1x11). Kown was 3-2 with a save and a 4.14 ERA in 13 appearances (10 starts) at Jerry Uht Park in 2007...Binghamton's starter, RHP Jake Ruckle, was equally impressive in his first outing of the season going 5.2 shutout innings allowing four hits with a pair of walks.
