Tonight, the SeaWolves open up a four-game series against the Trenton Thunder (New York Yankees) at Waterfront Park. The SeaWolves are coming off being swept by Altoona over the weekend including a 2-1 loss on Sunday. The âWolves have now lost five straight which is the second-longest losing streak of the season. Erie began the season 0-8...Erie is now just two games over .500 and have dropped from first place in the West to third place, 4.5 games behind Altoona...Trenton has won seven of its last 10 games and is in second place in the East, two games behind first place New Hampshire...The SeaWolves have struggled against the Eastern Division this season dropping 10 of 14 games...Lefty Duane Below takes the mound for the âWolves making his ninth start and third against the Thunder. Below is 0-1 with a no-decision against Trenton. Erie is unbeaten in the last five games started by Below. Today marks exactly one year since Below was forced to leave a start in Akron and subsequently undergo Tommy John surgery...Righty Cory Arbiso takes the mound for Trenton. Arbiso is making his 10th appearance and first start of the season. He allowed two runs on four hits in relief against Portland in his last appearance...Since starting the season 0-8 on the road, Erie has gone on to win 13 of its last 16 road games...Erie's offense struggled over the weekend against Altoona. In the four-game series Erie scored nine runs on 16 hits while striking out 48 times. TODAY'S NOTABLES - - Trenton leads the season series over Erie 6-2. The SeaWolves and Thunder meet 15 times in 2010.
