ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...

Tonight, the SeaWolves conclude a four-game series against the Harrisburg Senators (Washington Nationals) at Metro Bank Park. Last night, Erie swept a doubleheader against the Sens by scores of 3-2 and 5-1. The pair of victories not only snapped a seven-game losing streak to Harrisburg but with a Reading Phillies loss, tied the R-Phils in the Southern Division wild card standings. Both Erie and Reading have identical 71-65 records heading into the home stretch. Erie will have five games remaining (1 vs. HAR, 4 vs. AKR) including tonight while the R-Phils will play six (1 vs. NBR, 5 vs. CON)...The back-to-back road wins was something the SeaWolves have not done since early July. The last time Erie accomplished the feat was when they won three straight July 5-7 vs BING and ALT. A win tonight will give the 'Wolves their first winning road since since taking two of three from Binghamton July 4-6...Santo De Leon has seven RBI over his last four games with a pair of home runs...Casper Wells has hit safely in 14 consecutive games, his second longest hitting streak of the season. His longest was 16 straight July 10-28. In his last nine games, Wells is hitting .516 (16x31) with three home runs and nine RBI. Wells has connected on three home runs in his last five games and is two shy of his 2008 Erie total of 17...Brennan Boesch is hitting .357 15x42) over his last 10 games with two home runs and five RBI. With his 27th home run in the sixth inning of game one last night, Boesch passed Erie Munson for fourth all time in SeaWolves history.
