ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...
Tonight, the SeaWolves look to avoid a four-game series sweep as they take the field in the final game of a four-game set at Prince George's Stadium against the Bowie Baysox (Baltimore Orioles). The Baysox have taken the first three games of the series with back-to-back 6-4 wins in the first two games and a 7-3 win on Sunday night. Bowie has kept pace with first place Akron, also winners of three straight, as they sit at 4.5 games out of first. The Baysox are also two games ahead of third place Harrisburg. Akron, Bowie and Harrisburg are the only teams in the South that are at or above the .500 mark...The SeaWolves have dropped six of their last seven games and sit in a fifth place tie with Reading, 18.5 games out of first...Lefty Luke French takes the mound tonight for Erie making his 18th appearance and 17th start of the season. French took a loss in his last outing against Akron going 5.2 innings, allowing six runs on 12 hits with two walks and four strikeouts. He yielded a season-high four home runs in the losing effort. French is 0-2 with a no-decision in three starts against the Baysox...Righty David Hernandez takes the mound for the Baysox, making his 18th start of the season and his fourth against the âWolves. Hernandez has three no-decisions and a 4.30 ERA in his previous three starts against Erie. He is fifth in the league with a 2.63 ERA and he leads the league with 100 strikeouts. Hernandez has taken no-decisions in his last three starts.
