New Britain Rock Cats News Release
New Britain, CT - The Rock Cats invite all dog lovers and dogs to the ballpark for a unique "Bark in the Park" event on Monday, July 21st. The Rock Cats take the field against the Reading Phillies - the Double-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies - for a 7:05 P.M. contest.
For the first time in New Britain Stadium history, dogs can enter the gates along with their owners and stay for the entire game. All owners who bring their dogs must purchase a ticket for both owner and pet. The special dog ticket, which can be purchased for $10, includes entrance to the park, a "doggie bag" filled with coupons and gifts, treats, and water for the pooch. A portion of all dog tickets purchased will benefit canine-related charities. Festivities will include a pre-game "Dog Show" that includes a variety of fun-filled activities for owners and their dogs. The Connecticut Humane Society will also have animals on hand that are available for adoption.
All pets will be required to stay in a designated "dog zone," which will be comprised of Section 215 and the left field Best Buy patio area. Pet owners will be responsible for their dog's behavior and actions as well as for the clean up of their dog. The Rock Cats have partnered with several non-profit dog-related charities, including Fidelco, Enfield Dog Park, Wethersfield Dog Park, Guide Dogs of America, Meriden Humane Society, Connecticut Humane Society, and Coast-to-Coast Dachshund Rescue. These charities will utilize Bark in the Park in an effort to raise money through special opportunities. There will also be an opportunity to raise additional money the night of the game through our Rock Cats Foundation / Bearingstar Insurance Fundraising Program. To further explore such support, fans may visit their information tables in the Best Buy Fun Zone on July 21st.
For more information on this "Bark in the Park" event, Bark in the Park fundraising or business packages - or to purchase tickets for the game, please contact the Rock Cats Ticket Office at (860) 224-8383.
