ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...

Tonight, the SeaWolves continue a four-day road trip as they take on the Bowie Baysox (Baltimore Orioles) in doubleheader action at Prince George's Stadium. The Baysox ended Erie's longest winning streak of the season last night with a 6-1 win over the Howlers. The ‘Wolves jumped ahead in the top of the first but failed on several scoring opportunities as the Baysox scored six unanswered for the win. The loss dropped the ‘Wolves to 3.5 games behind first place Akron in the EL South. While the ‘Wolves are tied for the best home record in the EL, their road record now sits at .500 (6-6). Erie and Akron are still the only teams in the league with 20 or more wins on the season...Righty Jonah Nickerson takes the mound for Erie in game one. Nickerson picked up his first win of the season his last time out against the Baysox. In the game, he went six innings, tying a season-high, allowing three runs on eight hits with two walks and a season-high six strikeouts. Tonight is Nickerson's seventh start and fourth against Bowie. All of his starts have been against Bowie and Altoona. Erie is 2-0 in the last two games started by Nickerson and 3-3 overall in games he has started...Lefty Ramon Garcia makes takes the mound for Erie in game two, making a spot start. It will be Garcia's 10th appearance and second start. He picked up his first save in his last outing against Reading on May 11 going 1.1 innings, allowing a run on two hits with two walks and three strikeouts. His first start came in game two of a doubleheader on May 7 at Harrisburg. He went three shutout innings, allowing a hit with a walk and two strikeouts in that game.

TODAY'S NOTABLES -

- Bowie leads the season series over Erie 7-4. The SeaWolves and Baysox meet 19 times in 2009.

- Erie's pitching staff ranks seventh in the league with a 3.73 team ERA. Bowie's pitching staff ranks sixth with a 3.70 team ERA.

- Erie's offense ranks second in the league with a .267 team batting average. Bowie is second in the league with a .272 team average.

- The SeaWolves lead the league with 36 home runs and 170 runs scored.

- Ryan Strieby leads the league with 10 home runs, 30 RBI, .627 slugging percentage and 30 runs scored. He is tied with teammate Deik Scram with 16 extra-base hits which is third in the EL.

- Defensively the SeaWolves are second in the league with a .984 team fielding percentage. Erie has committed 19 errors this season which is tied for second fewest in the league. The ‘Wolves have turned 42 double plays which is second in the EL.

- Lefty Duane Below has been transferred from Class-A Lakeland to Erie, replacing Brooks Brown on the active roster. Below will make his Double-A debut on Monday against Harrisburg.

- Erie is 1-1 in doubleheader games.

- The ‘Wolves are 6-6 away from Jerry Uht Park.

- Erie is 10-3 in May.
