Tonight, the SeaWolves begin a seven-game road trip and a three-game series at Blair County Ballpark against the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates). The SeaWolves have dropped two consecutive games and are looking to avoid their first three-game skid of the season. Erie was shutout on Thursday morning by Reading 4-0. It was the first shutout pitched against Erie this season...The SeaWolves and Curve have identical 9-10 records and are tied for fourth place in the West. All six teams in the EL West are separated by one game. Five of the six teams (including Erie and Altoona) are 5-5 in their last 10 games...The SeaWolves send righty Mark Sorensen to the mound making his fourth start and first against the Curve. Sorensen earned his first win of the season last time out against Bowie allowing three runs, one earned, on three hits in a season-best six innings of work. Sorensen has allowed just one earned run in each of his last two starts...Righty Aaron Pribanic takes the mound for Altoona making his fifth appearance and fourth start of the season. Pribanic appeared once in relief against the SeaWolves and tossed a scoreless inning. He worked seven innings in a no-decision in his last start at Richmond allowing a run on three hits with no walks and two strikeouts. Pribanic has walked just one hitter in 19.0 innings pitch...Altoona enters the series with a .246 team average (fifth in EL) and a 3.37 team ERA (fourth in EL)...Erie and Altoona split a four-game series to open the 2011 season at Jerry Uht Park...Erie needs a victory tonight to avoid dropping to a season-worst two games under .500.

- The season series between Erie and Altoona is tied 2-2. The SeaWolves and Curve meet 18 times in 2011. The next 10 games of the season series will be played in Altoona. The Curve makes one more trip to Erie in July.- Defensively, the SeaWolves have committed 21 errors which is tied for third-most in the EL.- The SeaWolves are 7-5 in night games and 2-5 in day games. - Ben Guez is third in the league with a .370 batting average.
