Owen Sound Attack News Release
The Owen Sound Attack appear to have gotten back on track last weekend after picking up 3 out of a possible 4 points against two good teams in Niagara and Brampton. The Attack trail the 4th place Sarnia Sting by two points in the always tight Western Conference and will be looking to gain ground this weekend against Erie. Artur Gavrus (Upper Body), Jarrod Maidens (Undisclosed) and Kurtis MacDermid (lower body) will all not play this evening.
Youth Movement - The Otters travel to the Bayshore without star Greg McKegg for the first time in four years after he was traded to the London Knights prior to the Ontario Hockey Leagues Trade Deadline. Sherry Bassin elected to get younger by trading away several veterans and he certainly did just that. The Otters have fourteen 1994 or 1995 born players in their lineup, making them one of the youngest teams, if not the youngest in the OHL. The Otters sit at the bottom of the OHL Standings, but that is no reason for the Attack to take them lightly as one of the Otters 5 wins came against the Attack in Erie earlier this season.
Look Out For - One has to think that Ramis Sadikov will get both starts in the Scenic City as he usually does. The overage Russian goaltender's numbers are anything but spectacular, but that might have to do with the youth in the Erie lineup.
Last 10 Games - Erie (1-8-1-0) 5th in MidWest. Owen Sound (4-5-0-1) 3rd in MidWest
Tickets for Friday and Saturday's contests are still available at the Attack Box Office, online at www.attackhockey.com or by calling (519) 371-7452.
