November 21, 2008 - NBA G League (G League)
Iowa Wolves News Release
DES MOINES, IA, Nov. 20, 2008 - The Iowa Energy open the 2008-2009 NBA D-League Preseason tonight with a trip south to battle the Tulsa 66'ers at 7:00 PM. The Energy will face a formidable challenge from the 66'ers, who were purchased by the NBA's Oklahoma City Thunder this offseason, and feature several current and former NBA players.
"They (66'ers) have a ton of size in the lane. They selected former Minnesota Timberwolves player Chris Richard #1 overall in the draft two weeks ago. They also have Steven Hill, who was just sent down by the Thunder. Those two guys will be tough to deal with, but we feel really good about our team and we are looking forward to getting on the court," said Nick Nurse, Energy Head Coach.
The two teams split their season series last year, with each team winning at home. The teams will play a home and home series this year as well.
The Energy open the regular season next Friday at division rival Sioux Falls. The Energy open the 2008-2009 home campaign on Thursday, December 4th at Wells Fargo Arena.
Season tickets and single game tickets are available by calling 515-462-2849 or visiting www.iowanba.com.
