Utah Flash News Release

BOSTON, Nov. 21, 2008 - The Boston Celtics announced today that they have assigned rookie forward Bill Walker to their NBA Development League affiliate Utah Flash. Walker is the team's second assignment to the NBA Development League this season.

Walker had appeared in two games for the Celtics, averaging 1.0 point in 3.0 minutes per game. The former Kansas State Wildcat was acquired in a draft night trade with the Washington Wizards in exchange for cash considerations. Walker (6-6, 220), averaged 16.1 points and 6.3 rebounds as a redshirt freshman at K-State last season.

Walker will be joined with his Celtics teammate J.R. Giddens, who assigned to the Flash on Nov. 15. Both Walker and Giddens will be in uniform for Utah when it travels to Burley, Idaho on Saturday for a preseason game against the defending NBA D-League champion Idaho Stampede.

Walker is the fourth player to be assigned by the Celtics to the Flash since the beginning of last season. Guard Gabe Pruitt and forward Brandon Wallace were both assigned by the Celtics to the Flash last season. In three assignments to Utah, Pruitt played in 18 games, averaging 18.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists. Wallace was assigned once before waived by Boston, averaging 12.5 points and 9.2 rebounds in the first six games of the 2007-08 Flash season.
