Energy Dominate Westchester in Victory

Des Moines, Iowa - The Iowa Energy (9-10) won 108-97 over the Westchester Knicks (8-14) Monday night at Wells Fargo Arena.

The Energy were led by Damien Wilkins with a game-high 30 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Larry Owens added 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Ferrakohn Hall picked up a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. All five starters for the Energy scored in double figure points. Westchester was led by Darnell Jackson with 20 points and 8 rebounds.

The Energy started the game red hot, jumping out to an early 18-point lead during the first quarter. Larry Owens picked up nine first-quarter points along with eight from Kalin Lucas to lead the Energy to a 30-19 lead at the end of the quarter. The Energy continued to dominate the game in the second quarter, increasing their lead at one point to 21 points. Iowa held a 58-47 lead at halftime.

The Energy continued their dominance in the second half behind Wilkins and Owens. Both players added 14 points in the second half. The Knicks tried to put a late comeback together in the fourth, outscoring the Energy 30-25, but the Energy's lead was too much to overcome and the Energy won over the Knicks 108-97.

The Energy play at the NBA D-League Showcase on Friday, January 16 in Santa Cruz. The next Energy home game is Saturday, January 24 against the Grand Rapids Drive at 7pm.
