Emeralds Short Supply on Runs in the Ninth against Hillsboro
July 8, 2022 - Northwest League (NWL)
Eugene Emeralds News Release
The Emeralds' run in the ninth inning was not enough to come from behind in the game against the Hillsboro Hops 3-1.
With the bases loaded in the fourth, the Hops took advantage of two RBI walks by RF Danny Oriente and 1B Lyle Lin to give them the 2-0 lead.
In the very next inning, a wild pitch by RHP Abel Adames allowed 2B Fox Semones to score to make it 3-0.
The Emeralds scored the only run of the game in the ninth on an RBI single by C Rodolfo Bone to drive in 3B Luis Toribio, but it would not be enough to come from behind.
The Emeralds will be back in action tomorrow as they will throw RHP Mason Black. First pitch is at 7:05 PM, 6:50 pregame show on 95.3 The Score.
