
Elmira's Ellis Named Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Julien Ellis of the Elmira Jackals is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Feb. 1-7.
The 24 year old went 2-0-0 with 60 saves, a 1.00 goals-against average and a save percentage of.968 in back-to-back wins at Reading and Trenton. Ellis made 29 saves in a 3-2 win at Reading on Feb. 6 and stopped all 31 shots in a 2-0 win at Trenton on Feb. 7 for his first shutout of the season.
Since joining the Jackals on Dec. 19, Ellis has a record of 11-3-1 with one shutout, a goals-against average of 2.78 and a.902 save percentage in 16 appearances.
Selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the 6th round (189th overall) of the 2004 National Hockey League Entry Draft, Ellis has played four seasons in the ECHL posting a record of 69-40-12 with five shutouts, a goals-against average of 3.12 and a.908 save percentage with Victoria, Kalamazoo and Elmira. He has also appeared in 10 Kelly Cup Playoff games with a record of 3-5-0, one shutout, a goals-against average of 3.93 and a save percentage of.879 for Victoria.
The Sorel, Quebec native has appeared in 11 games with Manitoba of the American Hockey League since the 2006-07 season, posting a record of 1-8-0 with a goals-against average of 3.39 and a save percentage of.883.
