WHEN: 4:05 p.m.
The Jackals are facing the Royals tonight for the fifth of 16 meetings this season and fourth of eight at First Arena. The Jackals are 1-2-1 against the Royals this season, and 1-2-0 at home after back-to-back losses here on Dec. 7 & 8. The Jackals and Royals are both looking to finish off their three-in-three weekends by claiming all six of the possible points. The Jackals have taken down Orlando at home and Trenton on the road for their first back-to-back wins since Nov. 21 & 23. Reading has a five-game win streak after beating Ft. Wayne and Orlando at home to start the week. They are averaging five goals per game over the streak.
With a goal last night Jack Downing now has 11 points (3G, 8A) in six games in December. He had three consecutive three-point games to open the month, including 2G, 4A in two games in Trenton to begin the month. The scoring streak was halted due to missing most of the Dec. 8 game at home against Reading with a facial laceration. His production in December has more than doubled the points he put up over 16 games in October and November (4G, 3A). Downing's recent outburst is more productive than any stretch of his rookie season in 2011-12. His most productive month was 6G, 3A over 12 games in December.
Mark your calendars! The Jackals are back on First Arena ice on Friday, January 4, 2013 to take on the Reading Royals at 7:05 p.m. Join the Jackals for Dave Clark Foundation night and help us celebrate his achievements!
