Bulls Clip Condors, 4-1

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Behind four different goal scorers, the San Francisco Bulls (11-15-1-2) continued their dominance over the Bakersfield Condors (7-16-1-2), with a 4-1 win, Saturday night at Rabobank Arena. Thomas Heemskerk earned his 10th victory of the season, stopping 26 shots. Kris Belan also recorded the first shorthanded goal in team history.

The Bulls struck first on Justin Bowers' seventh goal of the season, just 1:28 into the first period. Jordan Clendenning set up Bowers, and Sacha Guimond also earned an assist. Bakersfield responded on the power play. Jacob Lagace scored at 6:04 for a 1-1 game. Bakersfield out-shot the Bulls 16-11 after 20 minutes.

In the second period, the Bulls threw everything they could on Brian Stewart, who stood tall, until Dean Ouellet scored on the power play with 4:06 left for a 2-1 Bulls advantage. Rob Kwiet took a fake shot from the point, firing it to the goal line to Ouellet, whose initial tip was stopped. He collected the rebound for his 15th goal of the season. Jordan Morrison earned the secondary assist. The Bulls and Condors were even in shots at 22 through two periods.

The Bulls upped their lead to 3-1 at 4:19 of the third period. While shorthanded, Morrison fed Kris Belan, who beat Stewart for this fourth goal of the season. Andrew Crescenzi scored on the power play at 7:46 to give the Bulls a 4-1 lead. Peter Sivak's shot in the cross bar before it was slammed home by Crescenzi for his third goal of the season.

The Bulls improved to 5-1-0-1 against Bakersfield this season, including 3-0-0-1 at Rabobank Arena. The Bulls next play at HP Pavilion, home of the San Jose Sharks, on Monday at 7:30, when they host the Stockton Thunder. Check sfbulls.com for information regarding the game.
