Elmira Jackals News Release
READING, Pa. - February 26, 2014 - Tonight the Elmira Jackals kick off the busiest week remaining on their schedule with a visit to the Reading Royals. The game starts a stretch of four in five days as the Jackals look to climb into the Eastern Conference playoff race.

WHEN: 7:05 p.m
WHERE: Santander Arena - 700 Penn Street., Reading, Pa. 19601
The Jackals are facing the Royals tonight for the 12th of 16 meetings this season and the seventh of nine at Santander Arena. Elmira is 2-8-1 against Reading this season, which includes a 2-3-1 record on the Royals' home ice. The Jackals and Royals haven't met for two weeks and Elmira hopes that the time apart will serve itself well. The Royals have owned the season series lately with six consecutive wins dating back to December 26 in Elmira. The Jackals' last win against Reading was a 3-2 triumph on December 15. The last two meetings have been close with Reading winning by one goal each time out. Reading returns home from a three-game southern road trip (2-1-0) but has gone 2-2-1 over its last five home games.
On January 16 Danny Hobbs matched his goal total from his rookie season last year as part of a two-point night (1G, 1A) in a win at Cincinnati. That night sparked a stretch of red-hot play for the winger from Shawville, Quebec. After a three-point weekend (1G, 2A) last weekend vs. Wheeling, Hobbs has 12 points (6G, 6A) in his last 12 games with Elmira. He also averaged a point per game in his first career AHL stint with a goal and an assist in two games with Binghamton from Feb. 1 to Feb. 5. Hobbs needs just four points to surpass the 31 he posted as a rookie with Greenville last year.
Mark your calendars! The Jackals return to home ice on Friday, February 28 to take on the Wheeling Nailers. Don't forget that groups of 10 or more who book in advance receive discounts off the box office price and preferred seating based on availability. Call 607-734-7825 to get your group outing booked.
