CHANTILY, VA (October 25, 2002) - D.C. United midfielder/forward Eliseo Quintanilla has been called in to the El Salvador Under-20 national team to compete in the CONCACAF Group B qualifying tournament in Charleston, South Carolina. The tournament will take place at Blackbaud Stadium in Charleston, S.C., with doubleheaders on Nov. 13, 15 and 17. El Salvador is joined by the United States, Haiti and Canada in Group B, with the top two teams advancing to the FIFA World Youth Championship in the United Arab Emirates from March 25 - April 16, 2003. Quintanilla is the fourth member of the Black-and-Red who will be competing in the U-20 tournament, joining United teammates Bobby Convey, Santino Quaranta and Justin Mapp, who were named to the U.S. roster earlier this week. El Salvador will play the U.S. on Nov. 15.

The 19-year-old Quintanilla tallied two goals and two assists in nine appearances (all starts) this season after joining United near the end of the campaign on July 22. Once Quintanilla ends the qualifying campaign with the U-20 national team, he will join El Salvador's U-22 national side, which will compete in the XIX Central American and Caribbean Games to be held in San Salvador, El Salvador from Nov. 23 to Dec. 7.
