Eleven Unanswered Run Onslaught Powers Somerset to Fourth Straight Win

The Somerset Patriots won their fourth straight game over the Binghamton Rumble Ponies by a score of 11-2 on Sunday afternoon at TD Bank Ballpark.

Now with a record of 17-9, the Patriots have moved a season-best eight games over .500. With their fifth win in six games of the series over Binghamton, Somerset ensured its first five-win series of the season. The Patriots have won back-to-back series for the first time this season.

During the six-game series, the Patriots outscored the Rumble Ponies 35-14. The Patriots have now won 11 of their last 14 games.

In their 26th game of the season, the Patriots hit 3+ home runs for the second consecutive day and the sixth total time this year.

After falling behind 2-0, Somerset scored 11 unanswered runs, including seven in the final two frames.

RHP Blane Abeyta (6.0 IP, 2 ER, 4 H, 4 BB, 1 K) earned his second win of the year, going the distance of six innings for the second time this season.

C Austin Wells (1-for-5, 2 RBI, R, HR, 2 K) hit the Patriots' last of three home runs in the game in the seventh inning. Wells has now homered in three consecutive games and he has hit safely in all five games played since coming off the injured list.

3B Tyler Hardman (2-for-4, 2 RBI, 2 R, HR, K) was credited with the game-winning hit, for having hit his fourth home run of the season-a two-run shot that broke a 2-2 tie in the fourth inning.

CF Brandon Lockridge (2-for-3, 2 RBI, 2 R, BB) swatted his first home run of the season to start the scoring in a four-run seventh inning.

The performance marked Lockridge's sixth multi-hit game of the season, extending his season-long hit streak to six games in which he is 11-for-21 with 7 R, 4 RBI and 5 SB. Lockridge's six-game hit streak is tied for the longest on the team this year (Narvaez, Seigler).

LF Jasson Dominguez (1-for-5, 3 RBI, 2B) capped the game's scoring with a bases loaded, three-run double in the eighth inning-his third 3 RBI game of the season.
