Lead Evaporates as New Hampshire Tops Senators Sunday

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats scored six unanswered runs to rally to beat the Senators 7-2 Sunday afternoon at Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester, NH. Blake Rutherford accounted for the Senators only runs with a two-run home run in the third inning that gave the Sens a 2-1 lead. Harrisburg dropped the final four games of the series.

The Big Play

With New Hampshire holding a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the eighth, Sebastian Espino fell behind 0-2 before he drew a walk. His walk put two on with two outs and was followed by a three-run home run by Steward Berroa to break the game open.

On Capitol Hill

Michael Cuevas started and went five innings allowing just one run. He left the game in line for the win.

Tim Cate was the tough luck loser allowing three runs on four hits in the sixth inning.

Orlando Ribalta pitched a scoreless seventh inning.

Odalvi Javier made his Sens début and gave up a three-run home run.

With the Gavel

Rutherford hit the second Sens home run of the series in the third inning.

Harrisburg had just five hits in the game.

Filibusters

Rutherford's home run snapped the Sens scoreless streak at 24.2 innings... Harrisburg went 0-for-11 with runners in scoring position and stranded eight including two each in the seventh, eighth and ninth innings.

The Senators and Bowie Baysox play game one of their six-game series at FNB Field Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Radio Stations 96.5 FM, 95.3 FM, and 1400 AM beginning at 6:15 p.m.
