Tri-City Dust Devils News Release
The Tri-City Dust Devils (17-14, 33-36) came away with the 4-2 win over the Boise Hawks (10-21, 25-44) on Sunday night at Gesa Stadium. The Dust Devils scored a pair of crucial runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to secure the victory over the Hawks.
After Boise jumped out to an early advantage, Tri-City took their first lead of the night in the bottom of the third inning. Kelvin Melean had a two-out, two-RBI double to give the Dust Devils a 2-1 lead. The Hawks tied the game in the sixth inning after Trevor Boone hit a solo home run. The two-run rally in the eighth inning, highlighted by a pair of clutch hits from Jordy Barley and Logan Driscoll, proved to be the difference in the game. The Dust Devils remain two games up on Everett and four games up on Vancouver in the race for the North Division's final playoff spot with seven regular season games remaining.
The Dust Devils will send left-hander Jason Blanchard to the mound on Monday in the final game of the homestand. The Hawks will counter with left-hander Jeffri Ocando. It will be a Coca-Cola Monday, where all 22-ounce Coca-Cola products will cost only $1 throughout the night. Great seats are available by calling the team's office at (509) 544-8789 or by going to www.dustdevilsbaseball.com to purchase tickets.
