Edmonton Reassigns Goaltender Bryan Pitton

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers and San Jose Sharks, announced the Edmonton Oilers have reassigned goaltender Bryan Pitton (PITT-in) to the Thunder from the Okahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League.
The Thunder has also released goaltender Dan Tormey.
Pitton has won the ECHL Goaltender of the Week award three times in his career and is 34-35-9 in 84 career games with the Thunder, recording two shutouts, a 3.08 goal-against-average and .900 save percentage.
This season, the 6-foot-2, 190-pound goaltender is 16-7-3 in 28 games with the Thunder, carrying one shutout, a 2.88 goals-against-average and .898 save precenage.
This year the 22-year old Pitton is 3-1-0 in five games with Oklahoma City with a 2.54 GAA and .918 save percentage. The native of Brampton, Ontario is under contract with Edmonton of the National Hockey League after being selected by the Oilers in the fifth round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
The transaction comes on the same day that the Oilers assigned goaltender Martin Gerber to Oklahoma City and one day after Bryan's brother, Jason, was returned to the Thunder from loan to Bridgeport of the AHL.
The Thunder returns to play tonight, hosting the Alaska Aces at Stockton Arena, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The game can be heard on radio at 1280 KWSX and viewed live on the internet (pay-per-view video charge) at www.StocktonThunder.com, courtesy of AmericaOne.
