Bakersfield Condors News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, announced today that C Joel Broda has been recalled by the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League.
Broda, 21, began the season with Houston and was in his second stint with Bakersfield this season. He joined the Condors for four games in mid-December, registering 7 points (2g,5a) in those games before being recalled to Houston. He came back to Bakersfield on Jan. 19, and since his return has scored 12 goals and 6 assists for 18 points in 19 games. Last week, Broda led the offensive charge for the Condors against Stockton, scoring 5 goals in three games as the Condors swept the Thunder.
For his efforts during February, Broda was the runner-up for the ECHL Rookie of the Month. He scored 11 times to go along with 3 assists in February. He also was the runner-up for the ECHL Player of the Week last week.
The Yorkton, SK native joins both G Josh Tordjman and RW Pascal Morency in Houston, as those two players were also recalled earlier this week. LW Brad Snetsinger is also in the AHL with Binghamton. Broda has played 20 games with Houston this season, picking up 7 points on 5 goals and 2 assists.
The Aeros won 8-1 Wednesday night over Rockford, but continue a busy schedule this weekend. They play three teams in three days, hosting Syracuse on Friday, traveling to Texas on Saturday, and returning home to face Abbotsford on Sunday.
Upcoming Schedule:
The Condors continue the Victoria road trip this weekend with games tonight and tomorrow. They return home for a three game series against the Idaho Steelheads, starting on Tuesday, March 8.
