(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimos have released veteran offensive lineman Cliff Washburn, kick returner/receiver Brandon James and linebacker Rico McCoy, the club announced today.
In his first season with the Eskimos, Cliff Washburn started in five games. A CFL rookie, Brandon James registered 15 punt returns for 97 yds and 6 kickoff returns for 105 yds in five games (2 starts), while Rico McCoy appeared in one game.
The Eskimos (5-2) continue preparations to host the BC Lions (1-6) this Friday at Commonwealth Stadium. Kickoff at 7:00pm.
