Ottawa 67's News Release

That was a nail biter!!!! Scoreless through the first, then Monahan slips one between the pipes and things are looking up. But just a little more than a minute later, the Generals answer with one of their own. We head into the third with a tie game and it's more than half gone before we finally get the lead we need from Prince. Less than four minutes later Janes grabbed another for insurance and that turned out to be the game winner.... It 3-2 Ottawa. Fewf!

In the stands we had a ball cheering for our boys and answering tricky trivia. Greg knew it was Bobby Smith who holds the points record for the 67's with 192 in one season! What a great question...especially after the night that Sam Gagner of the Edmonton Oilers had last night. Eight points in one game and tying the records set by Gretzky and Coffey! How cool is that! You know our very own Ryan Martindale was picked up by the Oilers.

During the first intermission Al and Lawrence did the "Save More, Do More" challenge for Home Depot. It was a blast with Al the big winner and Lawrence a gracious runner up. Chuck-a-puck took over the second intermission and for the first time I didn't get hit with any pucks! Yay! Sometimes I swear they do it on purpose. ;p~

We had so much fun! I really hope you can come and join us for more fun, games and hockey later today (Saturday). It's a very special game, with the guys wearing blue jerseys to help stick it to prostate cancer. Then after the game, all the jerseys, save one, will be auctioned off on-line at teamprostatecancer.ca. Cody Ceci's jersey will be silent auctioned right here on the concourse after the game. It's all about raising cash for the cause and awareness.
