ECHL Announces Fines, Suspensions

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Friday announced that Gwinnett's Joey Haddad has been suspended for four games, and Gwinnett's Chris Clackson has been suspended for one game, as a result of their actions in ECHL Game #177, Gwinnett at Florida, on Nov. 30. Both players have also been fined an undisclosed amount.
Haddad was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for elbowing under Rules 45.3 and 45.5 at 11:46 of the third period. He is fined and suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.
Haddad will miss Gwinnett's games at Florida on Dec. 2 and Dec. 3, at Greenville on Dec. 8 and vs. South Carolina on Dec. 10.
Clackson was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct - aggressor, under Rule #46.2 at the 17:49 of the third period. He is fined and suspended under Rule #46.21 - Instigator or Aggressor in the final five minutes of regulation.
Clackson will miss Gwinnett's game at Florida on Dec. 2.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.
