San Jose Earthquakes News Release
SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes are now accepting grant applications from local youth sports organizations for the 2014 Wells Fargo Goals for Education program. Interested groups should complete the club's online application at 78f032c2a48e50eda69bd1bf8 www.sjearthquakes.com/goalsforeducation before Friday, Oct. 31.
Since the beginning of the Earthquakes' 2011 season, Wells Fargo has donated $250 for each goal scored by the team. In three years, the program has raised $38,500 in addition to the over $8,000 guaranteed so far from the club's 2014 campaign.
Grant applications are evaluated based on three key areas: overall impact of the grant, clarity of how the funds would be used and socioeconomic need. To be considered, the organization must also be from the Bay Area. Each grant recipient will be honored at a ceremony at the Earthquakes' new stadium prior to the start of the 2015 season.
