San Jose Earthquakes News Release

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that the club has partnered with Uber to provide fans with a convenient, reliable transportation option when attending Quakes games.

"The Earthquakes organization is committed to providing the premier fan experience for everyone attending an event at Avaya Stadium," said Earthquakes President Dave Kaval. "We're excited to partner with a company as well-known and respected as Uber to add additional safe and reliable transportation options to and from all of our matches."

As part of the agreement, Uber will be the presenting sponsor of the Earthquakes rideshare lot, the Uber Zone, located at 1166 Coleman Avenue across the street from Avaya Stadium. The lot will provide Quakes fans a specific location for Uber drop-offs and pick-ups.

The Earthquakes will also work with Uber in recognizing outstanding Bay Area Driver-Partners during the season. The Quakes will reward one highly rated Driver-Partner every month with a VIP Earthquakes gameday experience, which includes tickets, pregame field access, recognition on the video board and a Quakes gift bag.

"We are proud to partner with the Earthquakes to provide a stellar experience to Uber users who visit the stadium," said Wayne Ting, Uber's Bay Area General Manager. "The Earthquakes also share our value of celebrating the local community and that is why they have also committed to celebrating the drivers who help make this experience possible by providing a one-of-a-kind fan experience to drivers serving their neighbors."

The partnership will kick-off on Tuesday, Sept. 27 and run through the season.
