COLUMBUS - Columbus Crew SC (7-11-11, 32 points) travels to Washington, D.C. to take on D.C. United (8-9-13, 37 points) tomorrow, Wednesday, September 28. The contest kicks-off at 7:30 p.m. ET and is set to be televised regionally on MyTV Columbus, Time Warner Cable SportsChannel and BCSN2, with Neil Sika and Dwight Burgess on the call. Coverage on MyTV Columbus begins at 7:30 p.m. ET. Exclusively on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel and BCSN2, "Crew SC Matchday," the pre-match show hosted by Chris Doran, begins at 7:00 p.m. ET, with "Crew SC Post-Match" immediately following the action. Tomorrow's match also airs locally on the radio on CD102.5 FM in English, featuring simulcast audio from the television broadcast. La Mega 103.1 FM has the match airing in Spanish, with Juan Valladares behind the microphone. The club's official website, ColumbusCrewSC.com, is set to stream the English-language radio broadcast online.
Tomorrow's match is the second and final meeting between Columbus and Eastern Conference opponent D.C. United during the 2016 Major League Soccer regular season. This is also the third of seven straight matches against Eastern Conference opponents for the Black & Gold. All-time, Crew SC is 26-26-11 against D.C., including a record of 9-19-4 in the Nation's Capital.
Crew SC and D.C. United last met on July 16 at MAPFRE Stadium, where the two clubs finished level following a 1-1 draw. The Black & Gold's leading goal scorer, Ola Kamara, netted Columbus' goal on assists from Harrison Afful and Tony Tchani. D.C.'s Fabian Espindola equalized in the 89th minute as both teams secured a point from the match.
Crew SC hosted the New England Revolution last Sunday, where the Black & Gold recorded a 2-0 shutout for their second straight victory. Ola Kamara scored two goals in the contest, bringing his team-high goal total up to 15 on the season. His first goal came from a Mohammed Saeid assist, as the forward was able to find the back of the net with his left foot in the 42nd minute. He later went on to convert from the penalty spot in the 84th minute, securing the three points for Columbus. The two-goal effort was his second consecutive brace as well as his fourth multi-goal performance of the campaign.
Entering tomorrow's match, Crew SC leads the League in passing accuracy with 82.43% of its passes completed through 29 matches and sits second in successful passes completed per game, at 396.31. Columbus also sits in second in the League in possession with 55.45% of the ball, just behind Sporting Kansas City's 55.68%.
