Earthquakes Acquire 2009 First Round Draft Pick and Allocation Money from Houston Dynamo in Exchange

SAN JOSE, CALIF. -- The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that the team has acquired allocation money and a first round pick in the 2009 Major League Soccer SuperDraft from the Houston Dynamo in exchange for forward Kei Kamara.

"We would like to thank Kei for his contributions to the team this year," said General Manager of Soccer Operations John Doyle. "This move gives us some flexibility for the future as we continue to build this team."

Kamara appeared in 12 games in his first season with the Earthquakes, including 11 starts. The Sierra Leone native scored two goals this season.
