New England Revolution News Release
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution announced today that individual tickets for the club's Saturday, Aug. 30 game against the Los Angeles Galaxy will go on sale on Friday, July 25, at 10 a.m. The match is set for a 7:30 p.m. start at Gillette Stadium as TV38 (Cox3 in Rhode Island) will televise the game live.
More than 25,000 tickets have already been sold for the game against Los Angeles. The seats available for single-game purchase are located in the 200-level of Gillette Stadium, and will cost $27 each. Tickets will be available by calling the Revolution at 1-877-GET-REVS or through all Ticketmaster outlets, including ticketmaster.com and (617) 931-2222.
A limited number of seats in the lower bowl (100-level) remain for purchase as part of group or multiple-game packages.
"There was tremendous interest in the Galaxy's visit to Gillette Stadium last year," Revolution General Manager and Vice President of Business Development Craig Tornberg said. "All the seats we made available sold out in 2007, and we expect this match-up between two of the league's elite teams to generate even more interest given the success both of our teams and individual players have had this year."
In addition to international icon and England National Team star David Beckham, the Galaxy features MLS' top two goal scorers in Landon Donovan and Edson Buddle, as the Galaxy boasts the league's most potent attack at 2.1 goals per game.
On July 4, the Revolution traveled to The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., defeating the Galaxy, 2-1, on its home field in the teams' only other meeting in 2008.
On Aug. 12, 2007, Taylor Twellman's second-half goal proved to be all the Revs needed to post a 1-0 victory over the Galaxy in front of 35,402 fans at Gillette Stadium in the team's last appearance in Foxborough.
The Revolution is currently Major League Soccer's top team with a 10-4-3 (33 pts.) record. The team has reached the semifinals of both SuperLiga 2008 and the 2008 U.S. Open Cup and is still in contention for both titles.
Revolution head coach Steve Nicol, goalkeeper Matt Reis and midfielders Shalrie Joseph and Steve Ralston will lead the MLS All-Stars - which also includes Beckham, Donovan and Buddle - against English Premier League club West Ham United on Thursday, July 24. The 13th-annual MLS All-Star Game will kick off at 7 p.m., and will be televised live on ESPN, Telefutura (Spanish) and CBC (Canada).
