(Lancaster, Pa.) - The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the Lebanon Ironmasters (a.k.a. Lancaster Barnstormers) 7-6 on Friday night in the opener of a three-game series at Clipper Magazine Stadium.

The Ironmasters took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on Andretty Cordero's run-scoring groundout and Kelly Dugan's RBI single off Ducks starter Stephen Woods Jr. The Ducks answered with three runs in the second off Lebanon starter Brent Teller, highlighted by Joe DeCarlo's sac fly to left and Tzu-Wei Lin's two-run homer to right. A run-scoring error on a pickoff attempt in the bottom of the frame tied the game at three.

Lebanon went in front 6-3 in the third, with Chris Proctor's RBI single and Joseph Carpenter's two-run homer doing the damage. Cordero's solo homer in the fifth made it 7-3. DeCarlo countered with a two-out, three-run homer to left in the sixth for the Flock, closing the gap to one, but Long Island could not complete the comeback.

Teller (2-1) picked up the win despite allowing six runs on seven hits and a walk over six innings while striking out six. Woods Jr. (4-1) took the loss, conceding seven runs (five earned) on 11 hits and a walk over five innings with four strikeouts. Andrew Lee collected his third save with a scoreless ninth inning.

Sam Travis and Brian Goodwin led the Ducks offensively with two hits and two runs apiece, while DeCarlo finished with four RBIs on the night.
