Grand Junction Jackalopes News Release

On Thursday night at Centene Stadium, the Grand Junction Rockies took an early 3-0 lead in their series finale against the Great Falls Voyagers, but were outscored 10-2 after in the third in a 10-5 loss.

The loss drops the Rockies to 5-15 in the second half, 25-33 overall, as the team ends it's 7-game trip through Montana 2-5.

Grand Junction took the lead before an out was recorded. Bobby Stahel started the game with a single, and he scored when Brendan Rodgers tripled. The next batter, Mylz Jones, grounded out to short, scoring Rodgers, making it 2-0 Rockies.

Collin Ferguson added to the lead when he homered with two out in the third, but the Voyagers rallied with two out in the fourth and scored three runs to tie the game. Louis Silverio and Ryan Jones hit back-to-back doubles, and Casey Schroeder followed with a 2-run homer, and they took the lead the next time they came up.

Silverio, who was 0-for-11 before the double in the fourth, hit a 2-run homer in the fifth, and Sikes Orvis started the sixth with a solo shot to make it 6-3. The Rockies scored a run in the seventh, and had the tying run in scoring position with one out, but never got closer.

Great Falls put the game away with four runs in the seventh, though the Rockies scored a run in the ninth to get within five.

Rodgers and Ferguson finished with three hits, while Anthony Brito, Chris Rabago and Jonathan Piron added a pair, but the Rockies were 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position.
