Great Falls Voyagers News Release

GREAT FALLS, Mont. (August 20, 2015) - The Great Falls Voyagers tied their season-high with their third straight victory Thursday, homering three times in a 10-5 win to claim three of four from the Grand Junction Rockies at Centene Stadium.

Entering the fourth the Voyagers (12-8, 29-27) had just one hit and trailed 3-0, but that changed with two outs as they put together five straight knocks. The rally started with a pair of doubles, as Ryan Jones knocked in Louis Silverio. Casey Schroeder then followed with a two-run homer to tie the game. After the home run Great Falls hit two more singles, but those runners ended up stranded.

The Voyagers took the lead in the next frame. Silverio took Grand Junction reliever Lorenz Ozuna (2-2) deep for his fourth long ball of the season, a two-run shot to make it 5-3.

Sikes Orvis added a lead-off homer in the sixth, but the Rockies (5-15, 25-33) answered in the next half inning on a single by Brendan Rodgers to cut the lead back to two.

Great Falls then put the game out of reach in the seventh. Antonio Rodriguez tripled into the right field corner for the frame's first tally, before Schroeder added his career-high third RBI of the night with a single. Orvis then collected two RBIs on a sacrifice fly to deep center, also giving him a career-high three for the contest.

Grand Junction pulled one back in the ninth, but never seriously threatened the lead, as Great Falls tied their season-high with their third straight win, and claimed a winning homestand after dropping three of the first four games of the stand.

Grand Junction wasted no time in grabbing the lead, plating the contest's first two tallies in the first. After Bobby Stahel led the game off with a single, Rodgers tripled him home to make it 1-0. The Rockies doubled their advantage one batter later, when Mylz Jones picked up an RBI ground out.

The Rockies tacked on another in the third as Collin Ferguson took Tanner Banks (4-3) deep for his team-leading eighth homer of the season.

The Voyagers hit the road Friday to begin a four-game set with the Helena Brewers at Kindrick Legion Field. All-Star right-hander Evin Einhardt (5-1, 3.42) will take the ball for Great Falls in the series opener, while Helena has yet to announce their starter for Friday's contest. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m., and coverage will begin at 6:50 on 1400 AM KXGF and gfvoyagers.com.
