GF WINS THIRD STRAIGHT

The Voyagers finished their season series with the Rockies by taking their third straight in a 10-5 decision Thursday night. Grand Junction jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, but Great Falls tied it in the third on an RBI double by Ryan Jones and two-run homer by Casey Schroeder. The Voyagers then took the lead for good in the next frame on a two-run shot by Luis Silverio. Sikes Orvis added another long ball in the sixth, before Great Falls put the contest out of reach in the seventh. Antonio Rodriguez tripled in a run, Schroeder singled in another with a base hit, and Orvis plated two with a sacrifice fly to send the Voyagers to the series victory.

DANTE'S INFERNO

Dante Flores has been hot during his last 11 games for Great Falls, having posted seven multi-hits efforts in that span, including four in a row. The Norwalk, Calif. native is 16-for-44 (.364) during this stretch, which also includes a career-high three knocks at Orem on August 7. This current run has pushed the former USC Trojan's season batting average from .273 up to .301.

MORE ON THE OFFENSE

The Great Falls offense busted out of their recent slump last night, scoring 10 runs on 13 hits, the most runs they had scored since they put up a season-high 13 at Idaho Falls on July 18. Seven of the starting nine collected at least one hit for Great Falls, with five of those seven posting multi-hit efforts. The Voyagers also hit three home runs last night, ending a drought that had seen them go eight straight games without a long ball. Leading the way last night were Sikes Orvis and Casey Schroeder, who each went deep and set career-highs with three RBIs. Louis Silverio hit the other homer for the Voyagers, and set a new career-high, scoring three runs.

UP NEXT: HELENA

The Voyagers head to Helena this weekend for the final four games of their season series with the Brewers. Great Falls has dominated Helena so far this season taking nine of the first 11 meetings, including two of three at Kendrick Legion Field in the first half. Going back to 2014, the Voyagers have gone 20-7 against Helena, their most wins against any PL opponent.
